Guidance Department

COMMUNITY SERVICE & INTERNSHIPS

Metropolitan has a graduation requirement for all students to complete 100 hours of community service in their four years at MBA.  Ideally, a student should try to complete 25 hours per year to organize their time and avoid feeling overwhelmed during their senior year.  These hours can also be completed over the summer.

 

If a student transfers into Metropolitan Business Academy, the student is required to complete hours based on when they enrolled. For example, a student enrolling as a sophomore should complete 75 hours, a student enrolling as a junior should complete 50 hours,  and a student enrolling as a senior should complete 25 hours.

 

Students are welcome to complete community service hours in a variety of ways.  If students have ideas for community service sites or projects, please speak to the guidance department or the administration to make sure that it meets the requirement.  As you complete your hours, submit your community service log forms to the guidance office.
