October 1, 2019 | FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opens on fafsa.ed.gov. it is very important for all students/parents to apply for financial aid as soon as possible because the government money goes out on a first come first serve basis. If you need help filling out the FAFSA, please contact Gateway Community College Financial Aid Office (203) 285-2030 OR Southern Connecticut State University Financial Aid Office (203) 392-5222. You do not have to be attending either of these colleges in order to receive help from them.

March 25, 2020 | SAT School Day has been cancelled for Juniors. Some of the colleges you will be applying to may waive the SAT, but others (usually more competitive ones) feel that you will have enough time to take the SAT before the admissions deadlines next year. The SAT is offered on Saturdays, nearly every month. You will all be receiving SAT fee waivers for 2 tests. We will talk more about this later in the school year. DO NOT WORRY! Just continue to study on Khan Academy (satpractice.org). Questions?, e-mail us!

April 2, 2020 | 9th graders will attend a Pathway Presentation where upperclassmen will present the Academic Pathway opportunities. Also, a Gateway admissions counselor will be here to talk to any senior who has or still will apply to Gateway for the Fall. During her presentation, she will discuss how Gateway is now offering free tuition. This will take place during Advisory in the Library. (this will be moved online in late April 2020)

March 9 - April 27, 2020 | Are you interested in taking a college class after school next fall? You need a B average overall and good attendance and behavior to apply. Applying does not guarantee acceptance. Please read over the "College Class Qualification" page on the isspinfo.wordpress website. After checking out the website, come to Guidance to see Ms. Reinshagen on a Monday. Yellow information slips are also available on the door of her office.
