Distance Learning Resources

As you all know, New Haven Public Schools are currently closed due to COVID-19, but teachers put together work/lessons to engage students in distance learning while we cannot be in school.  Below are links for each grade level.

  • Completing work is how we are taking attendance.  If you do all the assignments for your classes each week, you are "present."  If you don't do assignments, you are "absent."  This is the only way we can keep track since we can't physically see you in class right now.

  • You need to check your email and your Google Classrooms daily, so you don't miss anything.

  • Email your teachers with any questions you have about the work.  We don't know if you are confused or unclear about things if we don't hear from you.

  • Reach out to your teachers if you need anything.  We are here to support you as best we can. Teacher email addresses are listed at the bottom of each Google doc below.

We have received many messages from NHPS, Mayor Elicker, and other places that contain helpful information for students, families and staff.  For example, free lunch will be available for pickup at MBA only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 9:00am and 12:00pm. On Monday, you will get meals for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, you will get meals for Wednesday and Thursday. You will not be allowed to enter the building, but you can pick up a lunch to-go for free at the door. Find this information under Housing and Food Assitance Resources. We have organized all we have collected into several documents and links that will be updated frequently, so check back from time to time! Teachers, please check the Staff webpage for helpful links and resources.

In collaboration with Mayor Elicker, the New Haven Health Department, and the New Haven Public Schools, all New Haven Public Schools closed on Friday, March 13, 2020, due to the growing concern regarding the spread of COVID-19. The City and New Haven Public Schools will make a determination on when we will reopen schools and we will notify parents and guardians. The governor says schools will be closed until at least May 20. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students and staff, and we will continue to communicate changes as they occur.
