Poetry and Objects: An Introduction
Saturday, September 26, 1-2:15pm on Zoom.
Open to New Haven Public School students in Grades 9-12. Register at onha.yale.edu/Poetry+Objects
In this creative writing and reading workshop led by a Yale instructor and Beinecke Curator and Poet, we’ll focus on everyday objects in poems and think about how these things are described in our daily language and in poetry. We'll read short poems, write, and look at objects found in the Beinecke Library. We’ll ask: how can poetry help us understand something new about things we already know? Students who enjoy this event will be invited to attend a 3-part Poetry and Objects workshop.
